As stated before, leather, a serious stereo system, and all the latest aftermarket goodies will be incorporated into our 57's interior.
1) Soft leather for the seats and door panels (as well as a matching trunk).
2) Modern gauges from Auto Meter to monitor the vitals.
3) A killer sound system from Phoenix Gold and Kenwood.
4) Lokar shifter and parking brake lever for the custom made center console.
5) Steering provided by a tilt column from Flaming River.
6) Steering wheel to be determined.
Gauge Time
Our gauge ideal #1: Use the stock instrument cluster. Ideal #2: Add a modern gauge package. Ideal #3: Add to the stock gauge package but not detract from the 57 dash and cluster (give the driver a look at as many of the vitals as can be seen looking straight ahead while driving).
Auto Meter is our gauge package of choice. We have selected a 2 5/8" dia. tach & boost gauge (for the blower) and a 5" speedo for the main instrument cluster (which had to be machined to make room for the new gauges). The three dash switches will be cleaned off the dash and replaced with a pair of new bezels which will house a pair of 2 1/16" dia. oil pressure & water temp gauges.
Initial gauge layout & paper mock up.
This combo gives excellent visibility to five vital gauges.
Non vitals will be incorporated in the center console.

Tunes
A convertible presents a challenge in the area of the listening pleasures-the stereo system. All the sound simply escapes into the atmosphere and you end up turning the system up to here your favorite tunes. If you have a basic lower end system, distortion is what you'll here. Phoenix Gold International has stepped up to help with the task by supplying the audio components needed to make a clear (non-distorted) sound while driving with the top off. We have chosen their high end Xenon line of components
Our currant plans for the bad boy stereo will be; 1) A pair of 10" subs to be placed behind the rear seat.
2) A 1200 x 2 watt amp (600 watts per sub) to drive the subs and give the back seat passengers a message if they want.
3) Four 6 1/2" component speakers, two in the front kick panels, and two in the rear seat arm rests.
4) A 800 x 4 watt amp (200 watts per speaker) to drive the 6 1/2's.
5) All Phoenix Gold wiring and high end connectors to hook things up.
6) A Kenwood head unit to control the sounds.
